Listen, I love going to the gym. But let's be honest; not everyone has the time or the money for a fully equipped gym membership. As a mom, taking my daughter to the gym has become easier as she is now old enough to workout with me. But to be honest, I have at home, just what I need and do not have to pay a monthly member fee to workout in my room. Not everyone lives in a city that has a gym nearby their home. If you are single, childless and have all the time in the world, and can afford it, then go to the gym instead. It's great motivation and it gets you out of your comfort zone! I recommend it. However, I, like many, live in a small town and it is inconvenient on most days to travel 30 minutes to the nearest fully equipped gym.
Today as I pull into my driveway from work, I asked Lyric if she had any homework. When I get into the house I begin to look for something to cook for supper because I hadn't prepped over the weekend and usually don't. As I go into my room to change out of my professional attire and change into sweat pants and a t-shirt, I see my kicking bag in the corner and weights on the floor. I tell myself, "I've gotta do Legs today". Though after a long day of work I am beyond hungry and need a snack before working out.
Getting Fit Fast", "Fast weight loss", "Drop 50 pounds in 2 weeks". Do any of these searches look familiar to your eyes as you have typed them in the past? There are thousands of articles/blogs about these topics to get you reeled in and eating every word of it. But what happened after reading those articles? Did that 8 minute workout per day make you fit? Did you change your habits? Did you lose that weight and get "fit" FAST by using their methods of convincing? Don't say anything, I already know the answer.
You could start your day by slapping your snooze button, rolling yourself out of bed at the last minute, and rushing to get everything ready before rushing out the door with a pop tart and coffee. Or, you can start your day with some morning habits that will change your life...seriously.
Just a girl trying not to suck at life and attempting to help other moms.
